- 4 c. sugar
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 beaten eggs
Directions

1Place 1 cup sugar in an iron skillet over medium heat.

2Cook and stir over low heat.

3After the butter melts, increase heat until a rapid boil.

4Meanwhile, sugar in iron skillet has begun to melt.

5When melted sugar is light brown and completely melted, pour into the boiling mixture.

6Stir constantly.

7Cook to soft ball stage.

8Remove from heat and add 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring.

9Beat until icing has begun to cool and thicken.
-
10Icing will begin to turn dull in color.

11When at good spreading consistency, spread between layers and on sides.
