- 1 c. shortening
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. caramel ice cream topping
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. oatmeal
Directions

1Combine 2 c. flour, salt, soda, brown sugar and oatmeal.

2Cut in with pastry blender.

3Reserve 2 cups, press remaining mixture into bottom of greased 12 x 18-inch jellyroll pan.

4Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

5Combine caramel sauce with 1/4 c. flour.

6Spread over base.

7Sprinkle with chocolate chips, then reserved crumb mixture.

8Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes until delicately browned.
