  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sour milk
  • 1/2 c. sweet milk
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 to 1 c. walnut meats

    Cream butter and sugar until light.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

    Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with sour milk.

    Heat sweet milk; add a little at a time, then add vanilla and nut meats.

    Bake at 400° until done. Frost with caramel icing.
