Caramel Nut Pound Cake

- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 box light brown sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 5 large eggs or 6 medium ones
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sweet milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts or chopped walnuts
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar.

2Beat well.

3Now, add granulated sugar and mix until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well each 3 minutes.

5Add milk and vanilla and mix.

6Mix nuts.

7Save 1/2 cup.

8Add flour before adding nuts. Bake in pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325°.

9Line pan in wax paper.
