Caramel Nut Pound Cake

- 1 c. butter
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 (14 oz.) box brown sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. finely chopped black walnuts
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening.

2Add brown sugar and white sugar. Add one egg at a time.

3Beat until well creamed.

4Add flour, salt, baking powder and vanilla, then add nuts.

5Blend well. Place mixture in greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and bake at 325° for one hour.

6Test for doneness.
