- 1 c. flour
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- dash of ground cloves
- 1/2 c. milk
- 4 medium pears, peeled and cut into chunks (2 c.)
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. boiling water
- ice cream
Directions

1In a large bowl, stir flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and cloves.

2Add milk; beat until smooth.

3Stir in pears and pecans.

4Turn into an ungreased 2-quart casserole.

5In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, butter and boiling water; pour evenly over batter.

6Bake in 375° oven for 45 minutes.

7Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
