- 1 (9-inch) pie shell, cooked
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 c. pecans
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
Directions

1Pour 1/2 cup sugar in heavy pan on burner; let brown nicely. Add beaten eggs, milk, rest of the sugar, cornstarch and salt and let it thicken.

2Add margarine, vanilla and pecans.

3Pour into shell.

4Beat egg whites; pour over and let brown.

5Could use Cool Whip or serve with ice cream.
