- 1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell
- 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 (9 oz.) container Cool Whip, thawed
Directions

1Remove label from condensed milk and put entire unopened can in a large saucepan.

2Cover with cold water.

3Over high heat, bring the water to a boil.

4Reduce heat and continue boiling for 3 hours.

5Check periodically to see that water covers the can entirely.

6Remove can and cool unopened for 20 minutes.

7Open can and spread caramelized milk in the bottom of the pie crust.

8Over the caramel sprinkle 3/4 cup of the chopped pecans.

9Pat the pecans into the caramel with open hand.

10Over the caramel and pecans, spread the whipped topping.

11Garnish with remaining pecans.

12Refrigerate 1 hour before serving.
