- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. boiling water
- 2 c. milk
- 4 egg yolks (use egg whites for meringue)
- 1/2 c. flour (plain)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Put one cup sugar in large iron skillet and let melt to a dark golden brown syrup, stirring constantly.

2Add boiling water and cook until lumps are gone.

3Mix rest of ingredients together and stir into syrup.

4Cook until thick.

5Cool before putting into baked pie crusts.

6Makes 2 pies.
