- 1 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 3 beaten egg yolks
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix 1/2 cup sugar and salt; add scalded milk and egg yolks. Cook until thick.

2Caramelize 1/2 cup sugar and add 1/4 cup butter. Mix well into milk mixture.

3Add vanilla; let cool.

4Pour into baked pie shell and put meringue of 3 egg whites on top.

5Brown at 350° for 15 minutes or more.
