- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 6 qt. popped corn
- peanuts (optional)
Directions

1Melt butter in saucepan.

2Add sugar, corn syrup and salt. Stir continuously until mixture comes to a boil.

3Let mixture boil without stirring for 5 minutes.

4Remove from heat.

5Stir in baking soda and vanilla.

6Slowly pour caramel over popped corn and optional peanuts.

7Mix well.

8Spread on 2 large baking pans. Bake, stirring every 15 minutes (250° for 1 hour).

9Remove from oven and break apart.

10Store in covered container.

11Yields 6 quarts.
