- 2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 lb. margarine
- 6 qt. popped popcorn
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1In saucepan, combine brown sugar, syrup, margarine, cream of tartar and salt.

2Bring to a boil, stirring over medium heat. Stirring constantly, boil rapidly about 5 minutes, until mixture reaches 260° on candy thermometer.

3Remove from heat.

4Stir in baking soda quickly but thoroughly.

5Pour at once over popcorn. Stir gently until kernels are coated.

6Bake at 200° for 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times.

7Turn out on wax paper and cool completely. Break into small clusters and store in airtight container.
