Caramel Pound Cake

- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1 lb. plus 1 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
- 5 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. plain flour
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream the butter, sugar and oil until light.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Add to sugar mixture alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake in a 350° oven 60 to 65 minutes until done.

3Cool cake 30 minutes and remove from pan.

4Ice cake.
