- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. heavy cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Place sugar and water in 4-cup microwave-safe glass measure. Cover tightly and microwave on High for 7 to 8 minutes, until syrup turns light gold.

2Mixture will be extremely hot.

3Let stand for 2 minutes, then remove from microwave and gradually stir in cream and vanilla.

4Microwave, uncovered, for 1 to 2 minutes more, until golden brown.

5Cool slightly, then pour into clean jar or container.

6Cover tightly and refrigerate.

7Makes 1 1/2 cups. Good over ice cream or fresh pears.
