- 1 pkg. caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. softened margarine
- 6 oz. chocolate chips
Directions

1Melt together caramels and evaporated milk; set aside. Combine cake mix and margarine. Press 1/2 cake mixture into 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes.

2Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips.

3Spread caramel mixture over this. Spread remaining batter over top of caramel layer, spreading evenly.

4Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes.

5Cool slightly. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Cut into squares.
