Caramelized Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb good quality bacon
  • 1 lb brown sugar ( I use light )
  • 1 lb unsalted butter
  • 1 C toasted and chopped pecans
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 c pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper

    In a 3 quart sauce pan combine brown sugar, butter, maple syrup, salt, pepper, and cayenne.

    Heat until melted and well incorperated.

    Add Pecans ( chopped fine ) and remove from heat.

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

    Lay out bacon on a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper
  6. 6
    With a brush, coat the bacon with the carmel mix liberly, turn and coat the other side.

    Bake in the oven until the bacon is done to your liking ( I like it crispy).

    Brush both sides when it come out of the oven, let cool for 10 mins.
