- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. dark corn syrup
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. light cream
- 1/2 c. broken black walnut meats
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and 1/2 cup cream; bring to boiling, stirring constantly.

2Add remaining 1/2 cup cream and cook slowly to very hard ball stage (260°).

3Remove from heat; add nuts and vanilla.

4Pour into grease 8-inch square pan.

5Mark in squares when partially cool.

6Cut when cold.

7Wrap caramels in squares of waxed paper; keep in airtight container.

8Makes 36 pieces.
