- 1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) brown sugar
- dash of salt
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Melt butter or margarine in a heavy 3-quart saucepan.

2Add brown sugar and salt, stirring until thoroughly mixed.

3Blend in corn syrup.

4Add sweetened condensed milk gradually, stirring constantly.

5Cook and stir, over medium heat, until candy reaches firm ball stage (245°), 12 to 15 minutes.

6Remove from heat.

7Stir in vanilla.

8Pour into 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

9Cool thoroughly.

10Cut into small squares.

11Wrap each piece individually.
