  • 1 c. butter (not margarine)
  • 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Melt butter; add sugar and salt.

    Blend in syrup and gradually add milk.

    Stir constantly over medium heat for 20 minutes, being sure not to let temperature get over 245° (use candy thermometer). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and pecans.

    Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch glass pan.

    Score before totally cooled.
