Cardamon Rice for Curry

  • 720 ml Rice (Bastami, brown, or Japanese)
  • 1/2 tsp Rock salt (I used Himalayan salt)
  • 400 ml or more Water
  • 6 Cardamon (whole pod)

Directions

    Rinse the rice well.

    Add the salt, water, and cardamon, and let sit for 20 minutes.

    Cover with a lid and bring to a boil over high heat.

    Reduce the heat to medium and steam.
  5. 5
    This takes a bit less than 15 minutes on my stove.

    Once steamed, fluff it all up.

    Enjoy it with curry.

    This goes well with mild and creamy fish curry, too..

    For guests, I remove the cardamon from the rice before serving.
