- 1 small onion, minced
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. seasoned pepper
- 4 c. sliced, scraped carrots, cooked and drained
- 6 slices American cheese
- 2 c. buttered fresh bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 2 c. milk
Directions

1Saute the onion in butter.

2Stir in flour, seasoned salt and seasoned pepper. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly. Arrange a layer of carrots in a 2-quart casserole.

3Place 3 slices of cheese over the carrots.

4Repeat layers.

5Pour the sauce over the carrots and top with bread crumbs.

6Bake at 350°, uncovered, for 25 to 30 minutes.
