  • 1 c. uncooked carrots, shredded
  • 1 c. uncooked potatoes, shredded
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. raisins
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. shortening, melted
  • 1 c. flour

    Sift flour; measure and sift spices, salt and soda.

    Add raisins.

    Combine carrots, potatoes, shortening and sugar.

    Add dry ingredients and raisins; mix thoroughly.

    Fill well oiled 1-pound coffee cans 2/3 full.
