- 1 c. uncooked carrots, shredded
- 1 c. uncooked potatoes, shredded
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. raisins
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. shortening, melted
- 1 c. flour
Directions

1Sift flour; measure and sift spices, salt and soda.

2Add raisins.

3Combine carrots, potatoes, shortening and sugar.

4Add dry ingredients and raisins; mix thoroughly.

5Fill well oiled 1-pound coffee cans 2/3 full.

6Steam 2 1/2 hours.
