  • 4 cups carrots, sliced on a bias 1/8-inch thick (use a mandolin if available)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Place carrots, water, butter and sugar in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat.
