- 2 to 3 lb. catfish, cut up
- 1 sliced onion
- bay leaf, parsley and thyme
- 1 c. milk
- 2 qt. cold water
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 2 Tbsp. butter or fat
Directions

1Place all ingredients into stew pan and put on slow fire. Stir occasionally and cook until fish is ready to fall to pieces. Serve hot.
