Catfish Stew

Ingredients
- 5 lb. catfish
- 2 or 3 onions, diced
- 1 qt. potatoes, diced
- salt, pepper and red peppers to taste
- 2 medium cans tomato paste
- 3 large cans tomatoes, mashed
- 8 to 15 slices bacon
- 1 or 2 pt. milk
Directions

1Cut catfish into 1-inch cubes.

2Combine fish and onions in a large soup pot.

3Add enough water to just cover.

4Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and cook until fish feathers out (flakes).

5In a separate pot, cook potatoes, then add to stew. Add salt, pepper and red peppers to taste.

6Add tomato paste and mashed tomatoes.

7Cook bacon until crisp; drain and crumble into stew.

8Let stew cook to desired thickness, then add milk.

9Stir well and let simmer for about 15 minutes.
