Celery Au Gratin

  • 1 head celery
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 pt. heavy cream
  • Swiss Gruyere cheese or favorite cheese
  • 1/2 stick sweet butter

Directions

    Wash and peel celery.

    Cut into approximately 3-inch pieces. In pot, cover with water.

    Add salt.

    Simmer until tender.

    Drain liquid.

    In baking casserole dish, layer celery, pats of butter, cream and grated cheese.

    Continue as many layers as ingredients. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until top is golden brown.
