Cheddar Biscuit Cups

6 ingredients
5 steps

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour (Whole Wheat Flour Also Works Well)
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cups Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise

Directions

  1. 1
    1. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a small mixing bowl. (Note that you could also use 1 cup of self-rising flour instead of this mixture.) And feel free to go lighter on the salt-a biscuit made with less salt and served with a creamy, salty butter is delicious!
  2. 2
    2. Add cheese to the flour mixture. Depending on what I'm serving the biscuits with, sometimes I like to add a bit more cheese for extra flavor. And feel free to be flexible with the type of cheese you use. My favorite is a super-aged cheddar!
  3. 3
    3. Stir milk and mayonnaise into the mixture, just until moistened.
  4. 4
    4. Fill 6 greased muffin cups 2/3 full.
  5. 5
    5. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes, until biscuit tops are golden brown.
