- 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 Tbsp. GREY POUPON Dijon Mustard
- 1/4 tsp. ground white pepper
- dash ground nutmeg
- 2 cans (14-1/2 oz. each) chicken broth
- 2 cups milk
- 4 cups KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 40 saltine crackers
Directions

1Cook and stir onion in margarine in large saucepan on medium-high heat until tender.

2Add flour, mustard, pepper and nutmeg; stir until well blended.

3Gradually stir in broth.

4Add milk; mix well.

5Bring to boil; cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

6Remove from heat.

7Stir in cheese until completely melted.

8Serve hot with crackers.
