Cheddar Chicken Divan

  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of cayenne
  • sliced almonds
  • 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded sharp natural Cheddar cheese
  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli or asparagus spears
  • 3 lb. chicken breasts, cooked and sliced

Directions

    Make a white sauce with the margarine, flour, milk and seasonings.

    Add 1 3/4 cups cheese; stir until melted.

    Arrange broccoli or asparagus and chicken in an 11 3/4 x 7 1/2-inch baking dish.

    Top with sauce.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes, or until hot.

    Sprinkle with remaining cheese and almonds.
