Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2/3 c. half and half
  • 1 Tbsp. butter, melted

    Combine 1st four ingredients.

    Cut in cold butter until crumbly.

    Sir in cheese.

    In separate bowl, stir together egg and half and half.

    Gradually add to flour mixture stirring with fork just until dry ingredients are moistened.

    Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.

    Knead 3-4 times, roll into a ball.
