Cheese And Vegetable Turnovers

- 8 leaves chard chopped
- 2 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
- 2 cups cheddar cheese grated
- 1 onion large, chopped
- 2 slices cooked bacon chopped, optional
- 6 sheets frozen puff pastry thawed
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- salad to serve
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.

2Place the chard in a bowl of boiling water for 5 seconds until wilted. Transfer to a bowl of iced water. Drain well and dry on paper towels.

3Mix chard, vegetables, cheese, onion and bacon (if using) in a large bowl. Season to taste. Cut each sheet of pastry into 4 squares. Spoon 2 tbsp vegetable mixture onto each pastry square. Brush edges with egg. Fold over to form triangles. Use a fork to seal edges. Place on prepared pans. Brush each triangle with egg.

4Bake for 15-20 mins until golden. Serve with salad.
