- 1 cup Butter, Softened
- 1 pound Extra-sharp Cheddar Cheese, Grated
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 Tablespoons Milk
- 3/4 teaspoons Ground Red Pepper
- 1 loaf Texas Toast
Directions

1In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except bread, beating with a mixer until smooth.

2Trim crust from bread slices, then cut each slice into four cubes.

3(At this point, placing the cubes in the freezer for about 15 minutes will make it easier to spread the cheese mixture.)

4Using a small offset spatula, spread a thin layer of the cheese mixture on the top and four sides of each cube, leaving the bottom side intact.

5Place on a baking sheet.

6When finished icing all cubes, place the baking sheet in the freezer until cheese boxes are frozen.

7Store in a Ziploc bag in the freezer.

8When ready to bake, preheat oven to 400 degrees.

9Place as many cheese boxes as desired on a parchment-lined baking sheet, a few inches apart.

10Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly browned and puffy.
