- 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
- 3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh chives
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Mix flour and shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs.

2Add milk, grated cheese and chives and work in extra flour until dough pulls from sides of bowl.

3Roll out to 1/2-inch thick and cut with floured cutter.

4Brush tops with melted butter.

5Bake until golden brown at 425°, about 12 minutes.
