Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 c. dry white wine (Chardonnay or Chablis)
  • 3/4 lb. Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 lb. Gruyere cheese
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 3 Tbsp. Kirsch
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Rub clove of garlic throughout on the inside of a warm fondue pot.

    Warm wine; do not allow to boil.
  3. 3
    Stir in cheeses until smooth.

    Mix together cornstarch and Kirsch until smooth and add to the cheese mixture.

    Prior to serving, add pepper and nutmeg. Use good crusty French bread.

    Tear off chunks and dip into the cheese.
