- 6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 6 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 c. milk
- 12 oz. process American cheese
- about 4 lb. potatoes, peeled, cooked and thinly sliced (8 c.)
- paprika
Directions

1Melt butter in saucepan.

2Add flour, salt and pepper.

3Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly.

4Add milk all at once.

5Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.

6Cook and stir 1 minute more.

7Remove from heat.

8Add cheese and stir until melted.

9Place potatoes in large bowl; gently stir in cheese sauce.

10Transfer to a greased 2 1/2-quart dish.

11Sprinkle with paprika.

12Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes or until heated through.

13Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
