- 1 loaf white bread, firm, unsliced
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or oleo
- 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Directions

1Trim crust from bread; cut bread into 1-inch cubes.

2Melt cheeses and oleo in top of double boiler over hot water until of rarebit consistency.

3Remove from heat; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

4Dip bread cubes into cheese mixture until well coated; place on greased baking sheet.

5Refrigerate overnight.

6Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes, or until puffy and golden brown.

7Yields about 4 dozen.
