  • 8 oz. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 oz. butter
  • 1/4 pt. cold milk
  • 1 tsp. dry English mustard
  • 3 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 4 tsp. baking powder

Directions

    Preheat oven to 450°. Lightly grease a baking tray. Sift flour, salt, mustard and baking powder in bowl. Rub in butter. Add all the milk; mix to a soft dough. Knead lightly until smooth. Roll out to just over 1/2-inch thick. Cut out with round cutter. Transfer to tray; bake 10 minutes until well-risen. Cool and serve.
