Ingredients
- 1 pound extra sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 pound unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups flour
- Few dashes cayenne pepper
Directions

1Using an electric mixer or food processor, cream cheese and butter until thoroughly mixed.

2Add flour and cayenne and mix thoroughly.

3Shape into rolls 1 inch in diameter.

4Wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap and chill at least one hour or overnight, or wrap in aluminum foil and freeze.

5To serve, preheat oven to 400 degrees.

6Let frozen rolls defrost in refrigerator for at least a couple of hours or overnight.

7Cut thawed or chilled rolls into slices 1/3 inch thick and place on ungreased cookie sheets one inch apart.

8Bake about 10 minutes, until light brown on bottoms.
