- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne
- 1/3 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients into bowl.

2With pastry blender, cut in butter and half of the cheese until coarse and crumbly.

3Add ice water.

4Shape into a ball.

5Roll out pastry 1/8 inch thick. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

6Fold dough in half and roll out 1/8 inch thick again.

7Cut pastry into 5 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide.

8Sprinkle with celery seed.

9Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350° for 12 minutes or until light brown.

10Makes about 5 dozen.
