- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened (1/2 stick)
- 1 c. extra sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (about 4 oz.)
- 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- pinch of cayenne pepper
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In a mixing bowl, combine the butter and cheese with a fork, then blend in the flour and cayenne pepper.

3Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls.

4Place on a buttered baking pan and flatten until about 1/4-inch thick.

5Bake, uncovered, for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Serve warm or at room temperature.

6Makes 12 wafers.
