- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. yellow corn meal
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 c. margarine, melted
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 (4 oz.) can green chilies
- 1/4 c. green onions, chopped fine
Directions

1In a bowl, mix flour, corn meal and chili powder.

2Add butter, milk and egg.

3Stir until just moistened.

4Press mixture into nine-inch square pan.

5Bake at 350° until mixture is lightly browned and begins to pull away from sides of pan (about 25 minutes).

6Mix cheese, chilies and green onions; spread over hot mixture.

7Return to oven and bake until cheese melts (about 15 to 20 minutes).

8Serve either hot or cold.

9Makes 12 pieces.
