- 1 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 (5 oz.) can cream-style corn
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
Directions

1Combine all ingredients, except cheese, in a large bowl.

2Stir it until combined; do not mix.

3Pour over half mixture into a 9-inch greased cake pan.

4Place cheese over batter; pour remaining batter over cheese.
