Cheesy Garlic Biscuits

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. shredded mild Cheddar cheese or any flavor cheese you and your family like
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco shortening
  • 1/2 to 1 c. fat-free milk

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cheese and garlic; mix well, coating all the cheese.

    Add Crisco shortening in small lumps, blending with fork until crumbly.

    Add milk, a spoonful at a time, while mixing with fork.

    You may not need all the milk.

    Press dough out on floured surface.

    Make biscuits as thick or thin as you like, also as big or little as you like, depending on your biscuit cutter.

    Bake in preheated 400° oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
