- pastry for 9-inch pie (1 crust)
- 2 c. grated Swiss cheese
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. half and half
Directions

1Prepare pastry.

2Chill, but do not bake.

3Toss Swiss cheese and flour in pie shell.

4Cover with sauteed onion slices and sliced tomatoes.

5Sprinkle with basil and oregano.

6Cover with remaining cheese.

7Beat eggs in small bowl; add the half and half. Pour egg mixture into the pie plate.

8Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
