Cheesy Rice-Beef Bake

- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. long grain rice
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 3 c. water
- 1 c. shredded carrots or corn
- 2 tsp. beef bouillon
- 1 tsp. parsley
- 1/2 tsp. dried onion
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/2 c. shredded American cheese
Directions

1Cook beef, drain and set aside.

2Brown uncooked rice in butter in a large skillet. Stir in water, carrots or corn, beef bouillon, parsley, onion, salt and basil. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes.

3Stir in browned beef.

4Put in a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Cover and bake at 325° for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, 5 minutes longer.
