- 2 c. cornmeal
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. water
- 1 egg
- 1 c. cooked pinto beans
- 1/2 c. chopped ham, fried
- small pinch of baking soda
Directions

1Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add milk, water and egg. Beat until mixed well. Add beans and ham just until mixed. Pour into well-greased heavy skillet or pan.

2Bake at 350° for about 40 minutes. Top should be slightly browned.
