Ingredients
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. orange peel (zest)
- 1 (16 oz.) can pitted cherries (in syrup)
- juice of 1 orange
- juice of 1 lime
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 to 2 oz. brandy
- 1 qt. vanilla ice cream
Directions

1In a large, heavy skillet, melt butter.

2Add sugars, cinnamon, zest and cloves.

3Separate cherry juice and add cherries to pan. Heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

4Add orange and lime juice and stir.

5Add cherry juice and dissolved cornstarch.

6Heat until thick.

7Insert cloves into horseneck orange at intervals.

8Heat brandy in ladle (if using gas stove) or in small pan (if using electric stove).

9Flame and pour into pan.

10Stir and serve over vanilla ice cream.
