- 3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. plus 2 to 4 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1 c. cherry preserves
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Cream the butter and sugar with electric mixer in large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.

3Add 1 egg; beat well.

4Stir in 1 1/2 cups flour and salt until well blended.

5Reserve 1 cup of mixture by spooning lightly in measuring cup; set aside.

6Press remaining crust mixture into prepared pan.

7Bake for 15 minutes.
