Cherry Cola Salad

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (6 oz.) box cherry gelatin
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 6 to 8 oz. Coke or Pepsi
  • chopped nuts (if desired)

Directions

    Bring water and sugar to a boil in a 4-quart saucepan.

    Add pie filling and bring to a boil.

    Stir in gelatin.

    Remove from heat; stir until jello is dissolved.

    Add crushed pineapple, lemon juice and Coke or Pepsi; stir.

    Pour into 9 x 13-inch dish. Refrigerate 4 to 5 hours.

    Top with chopped nuts, if desired. Serves 10 to 12.
