Cherry Crumb Cake

  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter and/or margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (1 lb. 6 oz.) can cherry pie filling or other prepared fruits

Directions

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

    Mix with sugar.

    Cut in butter; add beaten egg and mix to make crumbs.

    Place 1/2 of crumbs in bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan.

    Distribute cherries evenly and top with remaining crumbs.

    Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes.

    Serve with ice cream or other topping. Sprinkle crumbs lightly with cinnamon.
